Welcome to ToontownHall! We are a "PG" site and since there some folks here under 18, we have to have some rules. That is the law. Your job is to make sure we enforce these rules evenly and fairly.
For any questions or problems please email us at contactus@toontownhall.com
Policies of ToonTown Hall:
All guidelines and policies apply to
EVERY part of TTH. This includes all threads, posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, avatars, signatures,
albums, social groups, visitor
messages, etc. Please read carefully, as not knowing or understanding the rules will not get you out of trouble.
Ignorance of the rules is never acceptable. If you are unsure whether your actions are in violation of the site rules, then you should refrain from doing that action and ask an Admin or Moderator before proceeding. Keep in mind that Moderators/Administrators have final say about what happens on this site and their decisions are final.
Moderators and Administrators of this site monitor your compliance with the rules of the site and dispense disciplinary action at their discretion. Disciplinary decisions may be appealed through the Appeal Procedure. All Appeals should be kept in PM's and/or e-mail correspondence and should not be publicly posted. If you have concerns regarding an incident, please feel free to discuss the matter with them via an e-mail or PM. Do not create a new topic simply for the purposes of questioning a moderator's decision.
Any posts containing inappropriate content will either be edited or removed from the forums and posting such Words/Phrases/Content after being warned can result in being suspended from the site for a given amount of time defined by the infraction and the Moderators. Examples of inappropriate content can be found below under Forum Guidelines. If you are consistent about posting this sort of content after you have been warned you will be permanently suspended from the site.
Impersonating or acting like they are an administrator or moderator is not allowed and can get you permanently banned. If a user finds a thread or post that is inappropriate please report the thread or post and let the administration and moderating staff handle the situation.
Forum Infractions may result in actions being taken that can range from written warnings to temporary suspension to permanent suspension depending on the severity and frequency of the offense.
Attempting to bypass a suspension by accessing the forums with another account will result in a permanent, immediate suspension.
It is very important to us that our staff is honest and fair to every member. If you feel that one of them is not following site rules or has been unfair to you, we want to know. If you have a problem with a Moderator, please report it to an Administrator. If you have a problem with an Administrator, please report it to
contactus@toontownhall.com.
Forum Guidelines:
Forum Registration
In order to post on our forums and interact with other users, we require that you register. Registration is completely free. All we ask is that you provide a valid email address and accurate date of birth. Anyone who is found to have an invalid email address in their profile will be moved to the "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" usergroup, which shuts off posting ability until the email validation procedure is performed. Note: If you have problems getting your validation email, you may send us an email at contactus@toontownhall.com from the email address registered in your profile. Activation keys will not be sent to any other email address.
During your registration you will provide us with a username to uniquely identify yourself on the forum. Should you wish to change this, you may PM any Administrator. Username changes will be allowed once per year, and we will note the date of the last change. Usernames should not include your full email address, date of birth or personally identifiable information. New Users will be placed on moderated status until their posting is deemed sufficient and in adherence with the site rules. To have the moderation removed and your account changed to Registered User you may PM any staff member. Until it is removed, certain areas and subforums may be unavailable to you even if you are a member of the related clan.
Posting To Forums
Posting to forums enables you to communicate and collaborate with your friends and others that play or played Disney's Toontown Online and other games, as may be added later to ToontownHall.com. Our site, ToontownHall.com is an online forum and is similar to the classic definition of the word: forum -- A public place or medium for open discussions. You access forums by clicking on the forum link and by clicking on the title of the individual forum you want to view. For example, you can click on the Playground or General Discussion link to see a list of available discussions. Then, you can click on the title of discussion you wish to view.
Please post in the appropriate forum. Don't be upset if we move your post to a more appropriate forum. In the event you find your post "missing", please attempt to locate it in what might be a more appropriate forum by using the Search feature.
Each forum has a name and a brief description with them. This makes information easier for people to find if they have a similar question or are interested in the same things.
We reserve the right to move, remove, or close any post for any violations or reasons we deem necessary. (Disciplinary action will be taken on a case-by-case basis depending on the severity
and frequency.)
For additional information and instructions, please review the Frequently Asked Questions here.
Inappropriate/Non PG Rated Discussions
Posts which contains subjects not acceptable in a PG rated movie will be removed immediately. This includes
promoting or referencing any illegal or age restricted activities, sexual references, bad language, inappropriate pictures or external website links, violence, racism, and anything else you would not say or do in front of your parents and/or grandmother. If you are uncertain as to whether a certain subject, word, image, or link is allowed, contact a moderator or administrator before adding it to this site.
Posts which contain information or description of scams or fraudulent activity are also unacceptable and will be edited or removed accordingly.
This applies to all forums, threads, posts, private messages, visitor messages, social groups, userpages, profiles, avatars, signatures
and albums (regardless of album type).
Profiles may be checked for content periodically & if deemed inappropriate will be removed and will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Personal Information
Please do not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES post, or ask for, personal information in these forums. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, full names, cities, school names, friend’s names/information, passwords, ages, account information, real life photos of
yourself, your friends, family or anyone you know, real life videos of yourself, your friends, family or anyone you know, or any information that could assist another person in locating you or stealing your identity. This includes, but is not limited to, passing this information to another through Toontown Hall's Private Message (PM) system and anywhere within member profiles. If anyone asks you for personal information, please let an Administrator or Moderator know right away. This includes, but is not limited to, giving out email addresses, IM screen names or their transcripts, phone numbers,
myspace or facebook-type names etc.

Game Codes
Do not post "True Friend Codes" in the forum. You may post that you would like Toontown True Friends and request that someone PM you a code, but the posting of
True Friend Codes is not allowed.
This includes codes for other activities and/or games that enables contact outside of TTH.
Language
Profanity is not allowed. This includes abbreviations. However good they might sound said out loud, they are an ugly thing to read and make for ugly posts.
As a clarification, "Crap" is a common use term and not considered profanity. The same applies for "this sucks". As long as they are not used abusively or overused, that will be the rule.
English Only
This is an English speaking forum. You are welcome to speak other languages in PM as long as it's agreed to by both parties, but use English when posting in
any open area of the forum.
You may also go to your User CP to request membership for our Other Languages forum, where you may speak freely in another language. Social groups and other non-English allowances are handled on a case by case basis.
Off-Topic Discussions:
Discussing topics not related to Disney and Toontown are not prohibited, but should be posted within reason. If your post/thread doesn't make sense, it will be deleted or moved. Also, there are some topics that are not appropriate for the forums. All posts are subject to these rules. Excessive off-topic posts will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Controversial Content
There is an area for this. It is access restricted by age, and allows for content not considered appropriate for the public forum areas. This does NOT mean the area is "anything goes". Posting genuine content is a different thing from posting for shock value. Think before you post. Again, mods don't like to edit.
Please also remember when posting to this area: other people will be reading what you write. They might not agree with it and will likely say so. This should not be taken personally. Not everyone will agree with you on everything all the time. Be prepared. Enter and post at your own risk.
Outside Links
Outside links must be approved by an Admin and must be put on the approved list link before you post it. You can find the approved link list
Here.
The only exception is in Social Groups, where outside links can be posted if requested and approved by an Administrator even if not shown on the approved links list.
If you post a picture or video that has a link in it, it must be on the approved list before you post it. Any posted without prior approval will be removed.
When posting images, please do remember to remove any Hidden Links. Depending on what browser you use, you will either use the "Remove Link" button in the advanced editor or you will need to remove the [URL] tags and link in BB code to remove the hidden link from your image. For examples and more information, view this thread here.
Also, do not mass-mail or post visitor messages to other users with links to other forums or sites. This can result in a suspension.
Custom Profiles
While the custom profile function is fun to work with, please make sure that your customizations do not make the text invisible or difficult to read.
Custom Signatures/Avatars
Signatures, avatars and profile pictures MUST BE appropriate for the public forum area. No personal photos or adult/controversial subject matter is allowed in signatures, avatars or profile pictures. Personal photos MUST be in a private album and may not be posted
in the forum area.
Signatures are limited to a size of
600 pixels in length, 200 pixels in height and no more than 200 kilobytes (204,800 bytes).
This includes the total kb size and pixels of all images you put into your signature. User CP limits the amount of images per signature to 4. To check the size of
a signature image, right click and choose properties. You will either see a kb or byte listing to compare against the above numbers and/or dimensions.
Text is limited to 10 lines by default and text size must not exceed size 3 (this includes custom fonts).
Userpages and Profiles
All songs in userpages and profiles must be on the approved list.
Please review the music stickies in the iToons subforum here if you would like to see the approved list and/or request a new song.
User Pages must adhere to site rules in content and comments.
Pictures and Video
No real life images of yourself, friends, family or anyone you know are allowed to be posted on the site. If you do post a picture or video and it has a link to another site in it, it needs to be a link that is one from the approved link list. (See the Link Rules). Posting videos are allowed in selected areas, as long as they stay within site guidelines. This includes the music for any video.
Flaming
Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Any post intended to incite a reaction from another user is not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. People flaming wish to upset and offend other members of the forum. We refer to these types of posters as "trolls". This is not allowed in any
of the forum, posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, signatures, visitor messages or avatars.
THIS APPLIES TO ALL MEMBERS!
In plain English, this is the difference between "I disagree, here's why", and "That idea stinks and you are an idiot". Editing is not fun for anyone, including the ones who have to edit you. Remember to treat others as you would like to be treated.
Cyber-Bullying & Cyber-Stalking
Cyber-Bullying is when one person or a group uses modern interactive technologies to harass someone. They are strictly for negative reactions only to antagonize others. Cyber-Bullying counts as
Flaming, and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Cyber-bullying is not allowed in any
of the forums. This also includes posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, signatures, visitor messages and avatars.
The practice of Cyber-Bullying is not limited to children and, while the behavior is identified by the same definition in adults, the distinction in age groups is referred to as Cyber-Stalking or cyberharassment when perpetrated by adults toward adults. A pattern of repeated such actions against a target by and between adults constitutes cyberstalking.
Trolling
Trolling is the act of purposefully antagonizing others and can result in banning.
If you see another user trolling, don't feed them, report it. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Spamming
Spamming can be considered multiple things; but overall, spam is any post that does not follow or contribute to the subject matter of the original topic.
Back Seat Moderating (BSM)
If you see a site rule violation, report it. The staff team is responsible for enforcing the site rules and should handle any violations.
PM (Private Message)/VM (Visitor Message) Spam
Please do not mass-mail or spam people's visitor message area with requests to do something/join something/ etc. This can also result in a suspension.
This includes advertising within the forum as well as other sites and links.
Spam has been allowed in some parts of the forums, such as the off-topic area or special user sections. However,
in the main part of the forum, it will be removed. As a general rule, if it doesn't fit with the topic of the thread, don’t post it.
Irritating Posting Styles
Please post so people can read what you are saying. If you use excessive punctuation, hard to read colors,
funky fonts, repetition of words and other hard to read posting styles, your post may be deleted
or edited so that it is readable. This also applies to threads, posts, private messages, userpages, profiles, avatars
, signatures
and visitor messages.
Sharing and Multiple Accounts
Members are only allowed to have one account. If you have more than one account, your additional accounts will be suspended indefinitely. Multiple members of a single household are encouraged to each have their own account. That way you may each state your own opinion freely. Do not let others on your account ever. If they do something that is against the rules, your account could be suspended. (This does not apply to forum Moderators or Administrators.)
If you do need to have more than one account in your household, contact a staff member to let them know. Otherwise, you will be receiving a PM to find out why you have two accounts.
COPPA: Users under 13 years of age
United States federal law requires us to obtain parental permission to enable users under 13 to post to the forums. This is enforced at the registration process by requiring anyone who puts a birthday that puts them under 13 to send in a parental permission form (this can be found at http://www.toontownhall.com/forums/r...p?do=coppaform). Anyone found to have bypassed this process by submitting an incorrect birthday will be moved to the COPPA usergroup that denies posting and PMing ability until we receive parental permission. If we receive a complaint that we are storing information of a child under 13 without parental permission, that account and all of its posts will be immediately deleted and additional steps will be taken to prevent re-registration.
Naming Names
Naming someone's name in post that has offended you either in the game or on the forum is not allowed. If someone misbehaves in the game, report them to Disney. If they offend you on the forum, report them to a Moderator or Administrator.
Hacking and Hacker Discussions
Besides mentioning that you were hacked, do not discuss hacking on our forum. If you feel that your TTH account has been hacked, please let an Admin know about it.
Thread bumping and Multiple Posts
Do not bump your own thread for at least 24 hours after you post it. You may bump your thread again only 24 hours after each bump.
If no one has posted after you in less than 24 hours, please use the "Edit" button at the bottom of your post to add more content. You may post again after 24 hours has passed if another user has not posted.
Religion:
For the record and this is for everyone of all faiths:
We have no problem with anyone's faith no matter what it is, as long as they are comfortable with other's faiths and do not come seeking converts.
Preaching is not allowed. Stating your religion is not preaching, nor is a reference to God. "You really ought to believe in [insert belief here]", would be preaching. "You shouldn't believe in [insert belief here]" would be as well. It's a form of harassment, because it insults something close to a person's heart.
Beyond that, we do not see a point to banning all reference to something that is such a big part of most people's lives. Be considerate of others, be kind, and there will be no problems.
Heaven and hell can be used to reference a location when discussing religious topics. Hell is not allowed to be used for shock value or as swearing and violations and/or misuse of the word in this manner will be dealt with as a language/non-PG violation.
Deleting Accounts:
We do not delete accounts.
Name Changes
Name changes are allowed once per year and can be requested by sending a private message to any active administrator.
Plagiarism
Any posts, guides, images and/or other items that are deemed to be a copy of someone else's work used without permission will be removed as recognized or at the request of the creator.
Reputation
Reputation comments must adhere to the site rules. While staff does not review reputation, reputation comments can be reported. Any reputation content that violates the site rules will be handled accordingly, regardless of the date it was posted. To report a reputation comment, please PM an active administrator or super moderator.
Impersonation Of Other Users
Anyone creating accounts with similar names as other users to impersonate them will be banned from the site. Anyone impersonating an administrator or moderator will be disciplined. If a user finds a thread or post that is inappropriate please report the thread or post and let the administration and moderating staff handle the situation.
Breaking Forum Rules:
Breaking forum rules can result in immediate actions such as written
reminders, warnings,
being placed on Regimodded status (this requires all of your content to be approved by the staff team before being allowed on the forum) temporarily being suspended or permanent suspension from this site, depending on the severity and how many times it happened.
Please note that Regimod will alter and/or restrict certain access, and including but not limited to PM limitations.
We will not tolerate:
-Profane language/Swearing/Cussing
-Rated R or X material, either in picture form or the posting of a websites that show it or music that plays it.
-Violence: Do not threaten or discuss violence here, that includes racism.
Images and music depicting violence are not allowed.
-Extortion: When one or several people try to either obtain or dismantle something of value from another person or group by using leverage of current circumstances (most commonly the use of threats or blackmail against one's property). Extortion is a
federal offense, and under no circumstances should anyone do or be apart of it. It is not allowed in any form, whether it be VM, PM, etc.
-Skirting or Attempting to Avoid Rules: Attempting to work around or avoid any rule is not allowed. Skirting rules sets a bad precedent for other members and can be unfair to those who do abide by our rules. Please contact a Moderator or Administrator if you are unsure about a certain action.
Publicly discussing actions by the moderators is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: bans, warnings, locks, and moved threads. Any inquiries or comments on bans, warnings, or other moderator actions, are to be sent in private messages or via email.
If you have an issue with the actions of any moderator, you should contact an administrator via private message.
Reporting Problems:
The Moderators at ToontownHall.com watch the forum closely, but because there can often be many posts per day, it is important that you be vigilant. If you see a post that breaks our site rules, please report it by clicking the red triangle
or square (depending on your browser) in the upper right hand corner of each post.
When reporting a post, please be sure
to type a message that
explains how you think it breaks site rules. Please do not contact members yourself, let the Moderators handle those that break site rules.
When you report a post,
certain staff members will receive an email, so you can be assured it will be handled quickly.
For questions or concerns not involving a report, please only PM one member of staff. If they are unable to answer your question or resolve your issue, they will forward it to the appropriate staff member. Chat room discussions and/or instant messages will not be recognized; communication must be within the forum and you will be redirected to the forum should you use this method.
Rule Changes/Adjustments:
We reserve the right the adjust the rules as we deem necessary contingent on newly discovered situations.
If you are reading this line, congratulations! You've finished reading the Site Rules and are now free to post on the forums. Have fun!
