ToonTown Hall Forum Guide

You may be familiar with vBulletin forums or a first time member.
This guide is designed to help you understand options and settings that are unique to our forum.
General vBulletin operations and FAQs can be found here.

Please take the time to review the below, in addition to the site rules,
and contact a staff member if you have any questions.

Account Statuses, Policies and Protocol
Upon registering, you will be placed in one of several account statuses. The thread at the link above will describe each status as well as moderator protocol. Note: Information regarding New Users is in this thread, below.

Album Types (Profile, Public, Private)
Albums are collections of images that you upload to our forum. Profile albums should contain images that you would like to use to customize your profile. Placing them in a profile album allows them to be accessed when customizing your profile within your User CP. Public albums allow viewing by everyone. Private albums restrict viewing to only friends and are the only type of album that you are allowed to upload personal images of yourself. All album pictures must adhere to site rules.

Approved websites and links
We cannot guarantee other sites are safe, so you can only post links within TTH or on the above list.

Arcade & Arcade Support
The arcade is visible to registered members. If you would like to request a game or have trouble, use the above links.

Awards
TTH and clans issue awards for contests and participation. Click the above link to see a list of all awards.

Banners and Resets
TTH and our clans use banners that appear on the top of the page. These banners usually include the clan, title, and a link for more information. Once you dismiss a banner, it may not reappear the next time the event occurs. Click the above for instructions on how to reset your banners.

Change Email or Password
You can change your email address and/or password in your User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Email & Password.

Clans
Clans are groups of members that provide activities, contests, and group-related events within Toontown. These are run by Clan Leaders (members with a teal colored name). To become a clan leader, you can either start your own clan or apply when an existing clan advertises an opening. To view clan leaders and a description of what each clan does, click here.

Colored Names and Tags
TTH uses name coloring to help you differentiate between regular members, clan leaders, and staff members. Please review the above link to ensure you contact the appropriate person.

COPPA Form
COPPA is a federal law that TTH complies with. If there is suspicion or evidence that you are under 13 years of age or have lied about your age, you will be required to have a parent complete and submit this form linked above. Once we receive the form, a phone call is made to the parent to confirm their signature, explain the forum, and answer any questions they may have.

Default Posting Font
You can set your font to your specifications so that every time you post it appears the same. Set your default by visiting your User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options > option on bottom.

Donations
Donations are available which provide additional features within the forum, such as userpages or large private message storage. Donations are not required. Funds contributed to TTH are used for forum related expenses. Staff members are not paid, nor do they receive any type of financial compensation.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can be found within the link above. These are general vB options and settings and can inform you of many regular forum operations.

Friends List
You can add friends on TTH by sending them a request. Review your friends list by clicking the above link.

Ignore Feature
You have the ability to ignore another user if you choose. Keep in mind that anyone you add to your ignore list only removes the ability of you being able to see their posts. They can still see you.
**Note: This does not apply to clan leaders or staff members.**

Images and link removal
Images may be posted in areas within the forum, but it is important that they do not link to websites that are not on our approved list. To view instructions on how to remove links from images, click the link above.

Invisible Mode
This option allows you to log in to the forum without other members being able to recognize you are online. Change this setting in your User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options.
**Note: This setting does not make you invisible to higher members of staff.**

IRC
IRC is similar to a chat feature that allows you to talk to other forum members in a faster method than visitor messages and private messages. In the event the forum is not available (planned or unplanned), staff members will be in the IRC channel for the duration.

Moods
Moods are GIF images provided for you to choose to display if desired. If you would like to create a mood to be considered, please click the above link for more information.

Multiple Accounts
Each member of TTH is only allowed to have one account. Creation of multiple accounts is not allowed, and if another account is found you will be contacted by a staff member. If you anticipate another account being created for another family member, please send a private message to a staff member listing the new account name (TTH ID) and the person's relationship to you. We keep a master list of shared IP addresses to reduce the likelihood of you being contacted about the other account in the future.

Music
TTH provides the ability to have music played on your profile and within your userpage. Songs must be approved in advance by the Super Song Administrator. Please visit the above link for more information. To turn off the auto play feature that automatically plays music when you visit a member's profile, visit User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options > Last option on bottom.

Name Changes
Name changes to your TTH ID are allowed once per year. Please send a private message to an active administrator (red colored name) to request a name change.

New Users
New users to the forum enter on a monitored basis. Once you can demonstrate you can post within our site rules and have been a member for a reasonable amount of time, you can request your account to be reviewed to have the moderation removed. Additionally, staff members regularly review accounts for eligibility. Until you are changed to a non-moderated member, your posts will be held in a queue requiring staff approval. Staff members check this area throughout the day and delays are minimal. Moderation of your posts does not mean they are free from discipline if site rules are broken.

Please note that being a New User means certain forum functions will not be available to you, such as custom user titles, being able to see private subforums, being able to post freely, and more.

Notifications
You can elect to receive notifications and can customize some of their settings. Certain things, such as notifications when you receive a private message or being notified via email, can be set in your User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options.

Polls
Polls are threads (discussions) that allow the option of voting. Polls submitted require approval and must have voting options included, or it may be moved to another part of the forum. For more information and instructions, click the link above.

Privacy
TTH collects and stores minimal personal information about you that is only used internally. For more specifics, click the link above to view our privacy policy.

Profile Customizing
Your profile has the ability to be customized to specify colors, add pictures as backgrounds, and much more. These options are available from the left-hand menu under your User CP (user control panel).

Reputation System
TTH utilizes a reputation system. This allows you to leave a personal message to another member through a post they have made. Reputation comments are listed by viewing your User CP and scrolling to the bottom. Click the above link to learn more about how this system works. You can also disable reputation by changing your settings in User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options.

Signatures
A signature is an image or text that will automatically appear at the bottom of your posts if you create one. Signatures do not require payments or donations. You can customize your signature within your User CP. Signatures must adhere to site rules and are limited in size so they do not create unnecessary lag/delay in page loading for members. Visit our site rules for specifications.

Site Rules
The site rules are designed to inform you what behavior is and is not acceptable within TTH. Whenever these rules are updated, a notice will be made and the changes clearly noted. This should be your first reading when joining the forum. When a site rule is broken, you will be contacted by a member of staff. The more rules you break, the higher the discipline. Excessive occurrences can lead to your permanent removal from this site.

Smilies
Smilies are images and animations used in posts, messages, and comments. We have a large selection of smilies, but you are free to submit new ones to be reviewed for addition by clicking the above link.

Spoilers
Spoilers are buttons created to hide text within a post. To create a spoiler:
image here or whatever
Staff Members and Clan Leaders
Staff members and clan leaders are designated by colored names. Click the above link to become familiar with them and who best to contact. When there are openings for new staff members, a thread asking for applications will be posted here.

Subscriptions
Subscriptions allow you to "subscribe" to a forum or thread so that you receieve a notification when there is new content to view (similar to an RSS feed). There are different notification options for subscriptions, and you can set your preference in your User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options. This is especially helpful if you create a thread and need to stay current with replies or questions. If no notification is set, a list of your subscribed threads can be viewed in your User CP.

Thread Titles and Edits
Thread titles should be in the corresponding forum and have a related title. If the title of your thread contains misspellings or is too vague, it may be edited.

TTH Technical Support
TTH offers technical support within the forum and about Toontown as available. Click the above link to request technical support. Most times, members can help answer your questions if you create a thread and list what you need help with.

Toontown Contact Information
Click the above link for ways to contact Toontown.

User Pages
Userpages are like your own mini-website. You can create this page, add images, music and more. Please note that all music for userpages must be approved in advance or you could face a week suspension. Please visit the above link for more information on this area.

User Titles
Registered members can customize their user title within their User CP. New users under moderation will not have this capability until their account is moved to registered.
