My detailed email to Toontown.
I fear Toontown Is going to be shut down in a year due to all the problems with the game. (Hackers) (No Updates etc.)
The Report Button:
The "Report Button" doesn't work for anything. You say it does but when we report Hackers they get away with it every time.
So none of you ever review the reports, and IF you do you ban the wrong person.
I know you can see what people are saying.
The Hackers can say VERY BAD words.
Take the time to review it and maybe IP Ban the hackers?
This is the MAIN problem with the game.
I know you keep denying the fact that hackers cannot ban or harm Toons. Yet they do.
Loopy Harbor, Nutty Summit, Nutty River, And Toon Valley are being reset every 30 minutes lately.
And I'm NOT happy.
Neither is about..... 89% of Toontown is.
The second main problem with Toontown.
Accessories are great. However most everybody hates Field Offices, not only that they weren't even made by Disney. Getting tired of you work eh? Ever since 2008 we have had a Update Slump. The rumors of "Cog Nation" or "Toontown II / Toontown 2.0" are getting crazy. Its been four years since we have gotten anything worth playing for. The "Under Construction" sign WAS going to be a Minigame however none of you ever got to making it. Others say it was going to be Funny Farms. However Hackers got into the files and managed to GO to the playground themselves.
Now I'm not the only one.
Here is proof that you NEED to step up your game.
(I got these from a forum.)
"I'm really hoping that Disney does something soon about these hackers. I'm about 90% sure the hackers caused my (and also others) name to get changed. Talking to a few toons today they believe the same thing."
"Unfortunately, they don't care about the ToonTown players who have been there longer anymore than all the other members. It's very unfair that all the older players get are the special emotions and special outfits (which now, even the newer players seem to have).
Had you added that line, they'll probably respond to you the same way. Like I said, they ignore most of the email. To actually have them listen to how angry a player is, you'd need to get them on the phone. And even then, they still seem like they don't care all that much. Sometimes they've responded to people like "Okay.... I can't fix that for you sorry, the (insert job names here) are currently working on it. Is there anything else I can help you with?". ToonTown sure has the best customer SUPPORT."
"For the past few years we have seen hackers or "script kiddies" (whatever you wish to call them) grow from an irritation to an obstacle. These people, obsessed with playing around with whatever program they downloaded off the internet, continue to ruin our game and more importantly, our ability to enjoy it. We have also seen little or no action taken against them by Disney or ToonTown's developers. Now you could say that last summer the developers DID take action but when it comes down to it, that is not the case. The devs were and are simply plugging holes, not permanently fixing any of the problems.
It's no secret that over the past several years ToonTown has lost a substantial amount of funding, customer support reps, and developers. The proof is in the pudding. We are seeing less and less quality content as time goes on and more events like "Silly Summer Parties." Now, regardless of what some may say, I don't think anyone goes to ToonTown's website, sees an event like this, and feels an unstoppable urge to get into the game. No. This is NOT content and should not be accepted as such. Now, I would love to think that we're not seeing new content because the developers are all cracking down on bugs and hackers or working on a brand new game, but there is NO evidence of that. The TestTown content continues to remain there and the hackers in the game continue to ruin the game for us.
And the hard truth: if ToonTown remains like this or gets worse, the game will close. If you disagree, just look at the facts. The game is infested with hackers making the game unplayable and therefore susceptible to a lawsuit, forcing its closure. Not to mention the lack of content and surplus of hackers leading to subscription cancellations. Either way, Disney will lose money and I doubt they will put any resources into reviving the game considering they're hardly doing that now. Now, I'm not here to put a negative outlook on the state of the game. I'm just merely stating the facts. Clearly, we can't stand by and let this happen. I propose that we utilize these forums to construct an email to Disney. Not to one of the support staff members but to the producer. I (and hopefully others) will try to get in contact with someone that will listen and not just copy and paste the typical response. If we can get through to someone in authority, then we can at the very least say we tried but at best SAVE THIS GAME."
"I totally agree, and it's very sad. You take a very good game, tons of customers, then after disney makes enough they decide to be lazy and not work on the game because they have such good rep. So when a problem like hackers come along they don't do anything it seems like, they just let the game run until no one plays anymore and it's silly!!"
And please reply with a hand written email. NOT a pre-made email.
And don't reply with "Were currently working to resolve the issue as the Toon Council is doing there best!" or "Those silly Cogs keep ruining our fun!"
Because I'm not a kid.
Most of Toontown -
Who agrees with me?
