I have to say.... I agree with EVERYTHING said here. I don't even pay attention to the updates. I just work on my toons. I mean, I'd hate to see TT go down, but with all the hacking going on, I think it would be best.
I started in 05 and any old computer would play tt. Now you better have at least a decent one. The simple things i miss like top toons on the log in page. I would check those each day to see who I knew. Now i never check.
Each month the news came(and yes it ended up in the trash) and now we get it as in game content. That was a cost cutting thing. Now live chat has been cut back, so one more cost cutting thing. Turn in a new toon's name on test, 8 weeks later still "Under Review".
As the ol' Injun said "read the signs son". I think the life of tt is close to the end. They seem to be hurting for money, and the devs have not came out with anything new since boss which has been 3 years.
Also the big thing for me is..........all their techs will tell you we are going to all be playing in the new launcher sooner or later. My comps are good but they still don't like that method. Same thing is happening on disney Pirates game. That test server have been down for some time.
And I didn't want to start a WOW acct. but never say never.
Toontown is totally going down...
And the browser-launcher-force-using thing... Don't even make me talk about it, just one word: nonsense.
I'm also too tired to talk about Disney's decision to block Windows 95 and 98... IMO the game is able to run on these systems as much as it was back in '05...
The devs are too lazy/busy (if you're Disney, pick the second word) to make something new, they keep adding those splats to news, launching Silly Meter again (because launching a code you've already written is easier than writing a new one) and fixing bugs after they get to open server (reading bug reports from test server, anyone?).
I agree with almost every comment written here. TT is going down and not worth those 9 dollars a month. If I were you, I'd buy some candies instead!
I've officialy switched to a different game. G'bye, 300mb of useless data!
BTW, anyone tried using UserAgent Switcher for Firefox in Windows 95 and launching TT?
I've played this game since I was in my early elementary years (2003) and back then there used to be lots of updates. However, it's been 3 years since a good update (BBHQ), even though the minor things like Silly Meter and the rest are okay, but it's nothing exciting. Also, because of the hackers that have been here for about a year, it just makes the game less enjoyable to play. You could basically say that the game was ruined quite some time ago.
I'd expect that if Disney doesn't step up and do something about their game, it'll probably be gone within the next year or so.
I have to say, reading this thread is very depressing.
My past cynicism hasn't matched what you all are saying.
That doesn't mean that I disagree, though. I've felt a serious slowdown in
worthy updates, but will Toontown close in the next year or two?
It's highly unlikely. Almost illogical. :spock:
It's more of a gradual death.
I so fedup that i going to build a new system ( ok for those that dont like this term....i mean computer ). If the new system doesnt work i cancelling my membership.........Not paying for brainless people telling me its my system when its their own fluffy bunny tails fault. This is not the disney I growup with and worked for yers ago.
I've tried to report a toon once for hacking on the game (which I know never works I think). I then went on Live Chat with Toontown and all they said is to use the report button and it will send a bug report or something like that. They can't even let me report them when I'm talking to Toontown. They should step up some things a notch. We would then all be happy...
About all these things all of you are saying about them... could you try telling them about it? Honesty is the best policy, after all.
Well they did add flappy cogs, and they are awesome, so you cant say they didnt do anything in 2010
ok nice comments. first of all IF they removed the hackers and not get non members to pay and focusing on them the members wouldn't even cancel their membership, since they will add new content. like seriously if they are focusing on getting non members to join the game for a price then members will cancel their memberships! there are more members than there are non members on toontown. SO get rid of these non member hackers by tracking down their ip adress or something and make em never create an account again. this way we (members) can experience lag free and dc free on toontown. ps. i emailed the thread to toontown member services.. let's see what they say about that.
